    Doll House

Can I get a doll house made out of Plexiglas? Oh, here it is. Thanks!

The Dean had Mike Fritz create for us a House made out of plexiglass that matches our animation video. We will be bringing this along to France with us… hopefully in one piece.

See them below. Who wants to create/add furniture?

    Anatomy of a [Sexy] GUI

    Author: Frederick
    06 23rd, 2008

The prototype of the Automatic Power Cycling Network (APCN) Kiosk Software used the default Windows CE Shell. The default shell reminded you of the Windows 98 theme, what Microsoft now affectionately calls the Classic theme. It reeked of drab, flat colors and boxy frames. Each page in the prototype was achieved using the TabControl. It was clearly evident that this will not work with our tiny (7″) widescreen touchscreen LCD. Common sense dictates that the buttons must be big enough for the fingers to touch and text to be read.

    VerTek Solutions Poster

    Author: Frederick
    06 21st, 2008

Now we present the VerTek Solutions poster. It was designed by Jorge Hurtado from Public Affairs & Publications at California State University, Long Beach.

The dimensions of the printed design will be 24″ x 36″ and will be displayed next to our booth in an easel at Imagine Cup in Paris, France.

The consensus is that we like it. It is simple and green. :)

Look at that giant light bulb over the houses… it’s like a monster hovering over a suburban setting. IT’S PERFECT.

    See it after the jump.

    Logo, I Choose You…!

Which logo do you think we should have picked?

Team EAT’s VerTek Solutions did not have a logo before it was even announced that we made it into the finals. When we found out that we indeed made it into the finals, one of those aspects of the project that made us scramble really quickly to come up with is the logo for our fictional company.

I, Fred, decided to create one realizing all too well that it won’t be the one making it into France (so, I had expectations that it could be… oh well, no big whoop). I created the logo that was on display on the main website and the wallpaper that I made for three weeks.

Firstly, let me backtrack to the inception of the company name.
